I love Budapest.
Notes
I saw that Evan Longoria is retiring as a Ray. I enjoyed watching “Longo” play third base when we attended Rays games between 2009 and 2012.
The picture that comes to mind first is the one from the illustration with his arms raised after hitting a walk-off home in Game 162. I was listening to the game on the radio.
I bought my son a Longoria figure that still sits on his shelf.
Congratulations on your career, Evan.

I played around with flex-wrap: balance
in Canary this afternoon. I was working with my teammate early this week on layout similar to the one in Una’s video. I didn’t even have to remove the width declarations on the flex items (which sets up the faux grid).
Introducing ? flex-wrap: balance ? Would you use this? ?? Not a real feature yet, just something one of our engineers has been working on. (You can try it out in the latest Chrome Canary with the experimental web platform features flag though!)

For years, I have wanted to stop to take pictures of the Sinclair dinosaur by the Lake Barkley Bridge in Kentucky. Today, I finally did. I’m heading back to Chattanooga from Murray with stop in Nashville to see my oldest daughter.
It is rare for me to see a Sinclair gas station. There is another dinosaur at an auto repair shop in Cadiz. Those are the only ones I have seen in quite a long time.
I saw this on Facebook. Animation of Aaron Gordon’s buzzer beating dunk to help Nuggets even playoff series with Clippers.

I have been thinking about where I was a year ago today. I was in Budapest, Hungary, one of my favorite cities. This day was probably my favorite of our time in Budapest. I had a reunion with a good friend that I met 35 years ago this summer. My son and I enjoyed a great lunch with him and his sons at Monkey Bistro. This came after spending the morning touring the National Gallery. After we parted with my friend, we enjoyed Matthias Church. I introduced my son to palacsintas. And then I enjoyed a time of reflection at the park next to our hotel. We started the morning with a delightful breakfast from Csengery Reggelizö és Kávézó just a few blocks from our hotel. It was such a full and rich day.

Here we go. Day 1 of working remotely with Revive Our Hearts.

My new teammates at Revive Our Hearts. Nicolas, to my right, was also onboarding with me this week. Bryan (my team leader) and Logan (backend developer) helped us to get set up on our computers and gave us a great overview of things that I will need a refresher on in the coming weeks. Onboarding is like drinking from a fire hydrant. There are two other members of our team. Jon joined us yesterday but traveled back home today. We also have another team member in Brazil that I will meet next week.

It seems appropriate that I am using a bookmark that has a cross section of St. Stephen Cathedral in Vienna while reading the book, The Craftsman.
I have been enjoying MLB The Show 20 playing with the Twins. Several of the players on the 2020 team played for the Chattanooga Lookouts so I wanted to play with this team. Today I won a game with a walk-off homer by Nelson Cruz.

I took Ray’s suggestion and made a playlist on Spotify. It was a collection of songs that I had already been listening to during the course of my unemployment. They were not necessarily songs that I heard as a child but songs that have encouraged and challenged me over the years or just recently.
